The Primo mission (Prevention and control of infection in medico-social establishments and community care) aims to monitor and prevent antibiotic resistance and infections associated with healthcare, in community care and in the medico-social sector. Each year, it publishes its report dedicated to monitoring antibiotic resistance in a specific framework. The latest results are available.

The document indicates that the 2022 national data on antibiotic resistance in cities and nursing homes relate to three bacterial species of interest : Escherichia coli, Klebsiella pneumoniae and Staphylococcus aureus.
Concerning the method used, from January 1 to December 31, 2022, the antibiograms of E. coli, K. pneumoniae and S. aureus isolated from samples for diagnostic purposes were collected in the network of 1,773 medical biology laboratories (LBM) distributed in the 13 regions of mainland France, Reunion Island and Guyana. It was the Spares mission (Monitoring and Prevention of Antibiotic Resistance in Health Establishments) which collected the antibiograms from nursing homes in health establishments.
Antibiograms of strains isolated from patients living at home or nursing home residents were included in the analysis. Screening and health facility samples were excluded. Antibiotic resistance was compared between C3G sensitive and resistant strains. The proportions of pan-susceptible and resistant strains to one or more antibiotics (multi-resistant bacteria) were calculated. Statistical analyzes were performed using the Student t test or analysis of variance.
