Funded as part of the Priority Research Program (PPR) for Antibiotic Resistance, the PROMISE project aims to embody the “One Health” concept and bring together under the same banner all the networks of professionals involved in the fight against antibiotic resistance in France. The meta-network is regularly presented at major international, European and national events.
From June 12 to 14, the One H international symposium “The One Health challenges to tackle infectious diseases” was held in Saint-Brieuc. The aim? To enable scientists and professionals to meet and exchange views on the science behind the main One Health challenges to tackle infectious diseases, in a unique opportunity to bring together players in animal and human health, and to reflect globally on the transmission of infectious diseases from animals to humans.
So it was only natural that a number of PROMISE staff should be on hand to talk about the meta-network and the work being carried out within its framework. Project manager Yohann Lacotte took part in the poster session. Claire Chauvin and Lucie Collineau (Agence nationale de sécurité sanitaire – Anses) gave two oral presentations, respectively on “Towards integrated surveillance of antibiotic resistance in France: a first joint analysis of surveillance data in a One Health persperctive” and “Moving towards One Health surveillance of antimicrobial resistance in France: a mixed approach to evaluate cross-sectorial collaboration and associated drivers and barrier”. In parallel, the 25th Journées Nationales d’Infectiologie were held in Deauville from June 12 to 14. The event covered a wide range of topics, including epidemiology, diagnosis and prevention. Focus was also placed on various topics: emerging issues, One-Health, new information technologies, etc. In this context, and during a session dedicated to AI, Marie-Cécile Ploy, coordinator of the PROMISE project, gave a presentation on “Artificial intelligence in infectiology: PROMISE land”. This was an opportunity to present the work undertaken on the meta-network’s One Health-oriented common surveillance data warehouse.
