The Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) has released a new report which highlights the importance of adopting a One Health approach to limiting the impact of antimicrobial resistance – the ability of microbes to resist antimicrobials.
This report identifies 11 One Health “best buys” that, if implemented systematically, would improve population health, reduce health expenditure and generate positive returns for the economy.
- See the report “Embracing a One Health Framework to Fight Antimicrobial Resistance“
It is part of a series of publications which analyzes the organization and performance of health systems, and factors explaining performance variations. Studies are conducted on such topics as co-ordination of care, pharmaceutical pricing, long-term care and disability, health workforce and international migration of health workers, information and communications technologies in health care, and the economics of prevention.
