The Priority Research Programme (PPR) on Antibiotic Resistance was created on the initiative of the Ministry of Higher Education, Research and Innovation and the General Secretariat for Investment. Inserm is responsible for the scientific management and coordination of this PPR. The National Research Agency (ANR) is the programme operator. PROMISE, the One Health meta-network for combating antibiotic resistance in France, is funded under the Antibiotics Resistance PPR.
The main objectives of the PPR Antibiotic Resistance are to:
- implement an ambitious research programme bringing together all French forces,
- propose new public health strategies and measures to reduce and optimise the use of antibiotics in human and veterinary medicine in order to reverse the trend in resistance, in line with international actions.
On 19 November 2025, the PPR Antibiorésistance held a symposium entitled ‘Antibiotic resistance: advances in research and innovation since 2020’ at the PariSanté Campus (Paris). The event brought together around a hundred PPR members and stakeholders involved in the fight against antibiotic resistance. Marie-Cécile Ploy, project coordinator, was notably present at this event. Several other PROMISE members also made the trip for the occasion. “
You will find some photos below (the full set will soon be available on the PPR Antibiorésistance LinkedIn account).

During this symposium, Ana Garre Debiès also produced around fifteen illustrations to capture the presentations. These illustrations make it easy to grasp the main ideas surrounding the research programme. Between the research projects funded by the PPR, those supported by the ANR, discussions on One Health approaches with representatives from five ministries, the fight against antibiotic resistance at the international level, and even in relation to private ecosystems, you can discover all of the illustrations on the national Antibiotic Resistance interface.
