The PROMISE meta-network is one of the projects and actions supported by the Priority Research Programme (PRP) on Antibiotic Resistance. Its website, the National Antibiotic Resistance Portal, frequently publishes editorials aimed at the general public, to help them learn more about a topic, a project, etc.
The March 2025 editorial is entitled ‘Europe united in the fight against antibiotic resistance’. This is an article dedicated to antimicrobial resistance (AMR) – more specifically, resistance to antibiotics – which is one of the major public health challenges facing the world today. In particular, it discusses the holistic approach to tackling the problem in all its dimensions (human, animal and environmental): an approach known as ‘One Health’.
There is also a focus on two joint European actions to combat AMR and healthcare-associated infections, known as EU-JAMRAI: EU-JAMRAI 1 (2017-2021) and EU-JAMRAI 2 (2024-2027).
This editorial was produced in collaboration with Evelyne Jouvin-Marche (Scientific Coordinator of the PPR Antibiorésistance) and two members of the PROMISE project coordination team: Marie-Cécile Ploy – Director of UMR 1092 RESINFIT – and Yohann Lacotte – Project Manager.
